Ingredients:
1/2 cup black gram (urad dal)
1/2 cup moong dal
2 cups yogurt
1/2 tsp. cumin powder
1/2 tsp. red chilli powder
2 tbsp. coriander, finely chopped
Salt to taste
Oil for frying
Method:
Wash and soak the dals together for 4 hours.
Grind the dal to a smooth dough, adding a
very little water.
Mix in the salt.
Wet your palms and take batter into the palms.
Shape into a ball and make a hole with the thumb in the center.
Heat a few inches of oil in a deep fryer
and deep fry the vades until golden brown and
crisp
Drain, keep aside.
In a bowl, beat yogurt and add cumin, red chilli powder,
salt and coriander
leaves and mix well.
Put vades in plain
water and soak for
10
minutes. Squeeze
out water from the
vade.
Arrange vades in
a bowl. Pour spicy
yogurt
to cover vades.
Sprinkle cumin, red
chilli powder and
chopped
coriander over it.
Serve cold.
