Payaswini's Recipes





Ingredients:
1 cup rava
2-1/2 cups water
1 onion, cut into thin slices
1 bell pepper, chopped
1 small potatoes, chopped
1/2 cup mixed vegetables
(green beans, carrot, cabbage, peas)
1 small chopped, tomatoes
5-6 green chillies, cut length wise
2-3 tbsp. grated coconut
1 tbsp. chopped, coriander
2 tsp. lemon juice
1 tbsp. ghee
Salt to taste
For Seasoning:
3 tbsp.oil
1/2 tsp. mustard seeds
1/2 tsp. cumin seeds
1 tsp. black gram
1 tsp. bengal gram
1/2 tsp. turmeric powder
8-10 curry leaves
Method:
Fry rava for a while till it is reddish brown. Keep aside.
Heat the oil in a heavy saucepan, add seasonings one by one and allow to splutter.
Add green chillies and onions fry till the onions become translucent. Add bell pepper, potatoes,
mixed vegetables and mix well.
Add water and bring it to boil until the vegetables are tender.
Add salt, ghee, coconut, tomatoes and cook for 5 minutes. Reduce the heat and add the rava slowly to the mixture. Cover and simmer for few minutes, till the rava is cooked. Remove from the stove, add lemon juice, corinder and mix well.
Serve hot.
