Ingredients:
1 cup rice
1 cup yellow mung beans (moong dal)
2 tbsp. coconut
1 tbsp. pepper corns
1 tbsp. cumin seeds
1 tbsp. ghee
6-8 curry leaves
1/2 tsp. asafoetida
1/2 tsp. turmeric powder
Salt to taste |
For Seasoning:
1 tsp. oil
1/2 tsp. mustard seeds
1-2 red chillies |
Method:
Dry roast the moong dal until light brown.
Wash rice and moong dal together
and drain.
Put rice, moong dal and all the
above ingredients
in the rice cooker container.
Add 2 cups water, cover the cooker and let
the rice cook.
Heat oil in a pan, add mustard
seeds, when
it pops add red chillies and
fry it.
Add this seasoning to the cooked
rice and mix well.
Serve hot with chutney. |
