Ingredients:
1 cup toor dal
1/2 tsp. turmeric powder
1 tsp. oil
2 cups spinach, chopped
4-6 green chillies, sliced
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1 long spring curry leaves
2 tsp. oil
1/2 tsp. mustard seeds
1 tsp. cumin seeds
1/2 tsp. asafoetida
Salt to taste |
For Seasoning:
2 tsp. oil
1/2 tsp. mustard seeds
1/2 tsp. cumin seeds
1/2 tsp. asafoetida

Method:
Cook toor dal in a pressure cooker with water,
turmeric, oil and keep aside.
Put spinach, water into a pan
and bring to
the boil until the spinach are
tender.
Add salt, cooked dal, curry leaves
and cook
for 10 minutes. Remove from the
heat.
Heat oil in a pan, add mustard, cumin, when
it pops add green chillies, asafoetida and
fry for 2 minutes.
Stir into the thovve. Add lemon
juice and
mix well.
Serve with rice or chapatis.
