Rice Pudding

Ingredients:
2-3 cups milk
1/2 cup basmati rice, washed
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp. cardamom powder
1 tsp. ghee
1 tbsp. almonds, chopped
1 tbsp. golden raisins
Method:
In a heavy saucepan, heat milk on medium heat. Add rice and simmer until rice is tender.
Stir occasionally to make sure the kheer does not stick to the bottom.

When rice is cooked, add sugar, cardamom, and mix well for 5-10 minutes.
Remove from the heat. Kheer will thicken as it cools.
Roast almonds and raisins in ghee until golden color and add this to pudding and stir.
Serve warm or cold.
