Matvadi Palya

Payaswini's Recipes





Ingredients:
2 cups boiled chopped Goorikaayi
(Cluster Beans or Gowaar Phali)
2-3 tbsp. oil
1 tsp. lemon juice
1 tsp. coriander leaves
Salt to taste
For Masala:
1/4 cup Bengal gram (soaked in water for 2 hours and drain)
1 cup grated Coconut
4-5 dried Red chillies
6 curry leaves
Pinch of asafoetida

Method:
Grind all the masala ingredients to a smooth paste. Keep aside.
Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds allow to splutter. Add ground paste to it.
Fry it for 5-10 minutes. (if required add little water) Now add boiled goorikaayi, salt and mix well for 5-8 miuntes.
Remove from the heat. Add lemon juice, coriader leaves and mix well.
Serve with Chapati or Rice.

Note:- For this palya, instead of Goorikaayi use chopped Methi Leaves and follow the same procedure.
