Payaswini's Recipes





Ingredients:
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 tbsp. warm oil
Water to knead dough
For Filling:
2-3 potatoes large boiled, peeled, mashed
1 onion finely chopped
2 green chillies, chopped
1/2 tsp. ginger, crushed
1/2 tsp. garlic, crushed
1/2 tsp. turmeric powder
1 tbsp. coriander finely chopped
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1/2 tsp. coriander seeds crushed
1/2 tsp. garam masala
1 tsp. red chilli powder
Salt to taste
Oil for deep frying
Method:
Mix the flour, oil and salt and add enough water to make a soft dough.
Cover and set aside for for 30 minutes.
For filling:
Heat oil in a pan, add ginger, green chillies, garlic and coriander seeds and fry them.
Add onions, fry till light brown. Add lemon juice, turmeric, salt, red chilli, garam masala,
coriander leaves
and fry it. Add potatoes and mix well. Cool and keep aside.
Divide the dough into small balls then roll them out into circles. Cut into two halves.
Join and press together to make a cone. Sealing the edges together with a little water.
Place a tbsp. of filling into the
cones and seal the edges carefully.
Deep fry in the hot oil until browned.
Serve hot with Green Chutney and Tamarind Chutney
